3/31/11 - No Meat Day

At the advice of the doctor I have to have two meat free days a week.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are 1/2 price salad days at work - which makes this commitment easy.  But at night - I'm hungrier than just another salad and I'm still new at no meat days - so, if we are out already we will usually stop at Taco Bueno for a Bean Burritos.  Tonight we had a couple of errands to run - Thirsty Thursday prayer night at church and then we needed to run to Target.  So, Taco Bueno it was...
Guess what I found there...
Can you see it there in the upper right corner?
Josh's lawn mowing add!!
Yep, front page news - Coffee News!!

3/30/11 - Nature Walk

The best thing about the time change - more daylight in the evenings.

Now, when we drop Josh off at youth we can walk this awesome Nature Center walking trail that is just the around the corner from LCC Student Ministry.

I don't think Denny bargained for the long walk.  Since we were new and didn't quite know all the trails - it took an hour to walk there, take a trail and make it back to our car.

I had fun taking pictures along the way...

Like this odd couple of trees on each side of the path, yet they find their way to each other and meet in the middle.  :)

Loved it!

Walking the Nature Center was MUCH better than the treadmill and a lot prettier than the cement trails at soccer practice.

I need to come here again with my Nikon!

3/29/11 - When...

did people start shipping blood?  Really?!

3/28/11 - Practice

Passed several of these - lost count.

Practice makes perfect?
No, Rec Soccer Practice

Which means - walking the track there while we wait for him.

3/27/11 - Shopping

S - is for Sunday
or
S - is for shopping
sometimes
S - is for snoozing on Sunday

3/26/11 - WHEW!

The day was full and started very early...  I was supposed to work but the job was complete, Denny had to work his long weekend shift even Josh had to work, so it left me to fend for myself.  Denny had coffee going so I enjoyed a cup of coffee to get me started, did a load of laundry and unloaded the dishwasher.  By 9:30 it was time to head out for my Saturday morning walk and with mom living so close I decided to surprise her!  I made it in time to call her from the front door acting like I was giving her my morning wake up call.  We sat down together to a delicious cup of special coffee from her Keurig.  She enjoyed her morning visit.  But there was still so much to do on my Saturday...

just take a look at that nasty car!  I had to get it washed before I headed out for all my errands.

I had to drive to Arlington to pick up my glasses, then head over to visit Ashley and her beautiful baby Peighton!    I made a quick pit stop to grab them some food so they don't have to worry about dinner but just enjoy their baby.

I was so wrapped up in loving and holding Peighton that I completely forgot to take a picture of her - UGH!  I remembered once I got in the car - so, bye Peighton... I can't wait to love on you when you arrive in the LCC nursery.

Speaking of babies at LCC nursery...
My next stop...

Korbin time!!  :)

Isn't he just the cutest with those curls on top!!  :)

Poppy was in Oklahoma visiting family so I missed my little poptart!

Last stop...

Josh's soccer game!

All day long it was like in the 80's, so, I had been running around in shorts and flip flops - by 7:00 PM a cold front came in - with no time in between to change - I ended up sitting in my car watching the game from the empty parking lot next to the fields.  I was still able to spot my kiddo!!

Yep - it was a full Saturday!

3/25/11 - beats...

This is the smile of a young man who worked hard for his 1st crazy purchase that was fun and frivolous.  He saved for his 1st car, a trailer for his lawn business and now something just FUN...

Yes - headphones..

When I was his age and worked for my money it was purses.  He's a guy - so, headphones...

It was his money...

3/24/11 - Dinner Time??

I made a little extra cash helping a friend stick labels
on about 2000 envelopes for $10 an hour - I can deal with a late dinner...

3/23/11 - Peep

3/22/11 - THS Soccer Ends

3/20/11 - Girl Time

Girl Time was over due!!
Having a Pedicure is my MOST favorite
way to spend girl time!
ahhhh...

3/19/11 - Busy Saturday

We started ANOTHER Saturday with a walk...
changing it up each Saturday keeps the walks from being boring.  This week we went to River Legacy in Arlington.

We left pretty early and good thing too, by the time we left it was really starting to get crowded.

We started on 157 entrance and walked all the way to the other entrance at Green Oaks, then we took a different trail back for a round about way adding to the miles.

Do you notice all the animals it says "you may find?"  UMM... no one told me I could find ANY of those critters.

Luckily, we did NOT see any of those guys - just several dogs - one shaggy dog was so tired from walking, her mom had to carry her...  How embarrassing!?!

It was a gorgeous day and having "date" morning with my hubby made the day even more glorious!

We stayed busy all day running a bunch of Saturday errands, including...

our visit to the eye doctor.  I'll be picking up my first pair of BI-FOCALS - in 7-10 days.  I'm getting that many years young as Dr. Martin says.

We ended the day worshipping together at our church and enjoyed the SUPER MOON showing with the neighbors at our first of many of the season - Driveway Parties!!  We LOVE our neighborhood!!

Oh - I said SUPER MOON because it was supposed to be the biggest FULL moon ever - something about the moon being closer to earth - I don't know the details of it - but honestly, it seemed like any other full moon to me...
OK - it was pretty bright I'll give you that
and I'm sure my phone camera
is not doing it justice...
regardless - sharing this busy day with my husband was SUPER!

3/18/11 - Date Night

I look forward to our every other Friday "date night" it is important to me that we keep our Date Nights.  I had been doing really good all week in exercising after work so, I made sure to workout before our time together.
With it being gorgeous out,  I used 30 minutes of my lunch hour to enjoy the day.  I walked out the front door, around to the back of our building over nextdoor and back.
It was alot hotter outside then I thought it would be - I'm so glad I work pretty much AWAY from everyone!  :O)

I was glad to have my workout out of the way... leaving plenty of time to sit for a leisurely dinner at another FAVORITE restaurant - Rio Mambo - yum!  It figures that my favorite restaurants include two Mexican places!  :)  We did a some shopping then headed for dessert!
Yummy!
Yep, another successful date with the man of my dreams...
I love you babe - thanks, for keeping our dates.

3/17/11 - Walking in the Neighborhood

Today, I just didn't want to walk on the treadmill again...

I didn't realize the neighborhood walk was going to be so interesting and entertaining!

Two tree men in one week - WOW!

3/16/11 - Sometimes...

I just get to missing Zeus...

No reason...

Just remembering him...

3/15/11 - Spring Break

Traffic was unusually light, I get to work and think - wow...
either everyone is late or I'm early!
Then I remembered it was Spring Break!

3/14/11 - Glasses Needed

On the way home after a long hike, I propped my feet up on the dash of the car.  Basking in the sunlight, chillin' peacefully until... I started rubbing my ankles I realized... my butterflies were fuzzy!!

I can no longer shave with just shampoo while taking a shower.  ;(

3/13/11 - Highlights

The District Championship Highlight
video finally arrived...

We watched Josh the STAR kicker on highlight reels along with the rest of the Blackhawk Freshman Champs...

Football Kicker??
or
Soccer Defender??

Josh is your athlete! - which college wants this STAR??!!  :)

3/12/11 - Family Hike

Josh didn't have to work this Saturday morning,
so we were able to drag him along on
our hike this week.

He was not into having his picture taken so early though...
Which made for some pretty funny "non-Josh" pictures...

Bad attempt at trying to run from the picture...
Yes, the walk made for some pretty goofy pictures along the trail...
In keeping up with the times - the trail even provided a place to blog about your hike...

just some other sites along the path...

Denny is used to me
taking pictures...
He plays along for my benefit
but I think you can tell
he isn't too thrilled.

Josh didn't mind being
the eye behind the camera
well...
maybe next time
I'll capture him!

3/11/11 - Devastation

An 8.9-magnitude earthquake set off a tsunami, causing death and destruction in Japan

"Devastating earthquake, tsunami hit Japan:  As the ground continued to twitch with aftershocks the morning after Japan was struck by the most powerful earthquake in the nation's recorded history, the disaster's massive impact was only beginning to be revealed."

"Japan, world watches tsunami strike live Within an hour after a major earthquake rattled Japan, the nation and the world watched a surreal."  Today's technology shows live footage of what is normally scene in movies - only this was no movie.  Epic devastation.
All over the world people prayed for all of Japan...

3/10/11 - Redeeming Love

My March book...
which also happens to be the book we are doing in our Life Group.

We are doing something a bit different this time around...  When we meet on Tuesday's we are reading from the book of Hosea using the Serendipity Bible and on our own time we are reading this fictional book based on Hosea.

Once we are finished going thru Hosea - then we will do the discussion questions from the book.  For those of us like me, reading both opens my eyes to a deeper picture, its like seeing it in a movie.  It has been an eye opener for sure.

This book should be on every woman's MUST read list, it was one of those books you could NOT put down.  Very hard subject matter in the beginning but you have to get thru the deep subject matters to understand and grasp the Redeeming Love...
