7/21/11 - Progress

It's taken over 2 hours to get caught up on my photo journal/blog.  I haven't felt like myself for quite a while now due to my stupid mouth pain.  Thank God, tonight was the first night I could eat without hurting afterwards!!

Progress - I love it...

so, like the construction - healing is slow but progressing!

7/20/11 - Kicking

Just ask..
and you can find someone willing to help
this former Trinity Kicker was willing to work with Josh.
After working with him for over an hour Josh's kick improved.  Josh's dad hired him to help Josh for the next few weeks!!  Hopefully, it will get him ready for THS and future scholarships for college.
I'm looking forward to some High School Football Trojan style!
Look a Mother's Brunch!  :)  <3

7/19/11 - Going Bananas

Yesterday and today were crazy busy at work...
While I slaved away - Josh had fun at Six Flags...
Little did I know he would provide the perfect picture for the day...

7/18/11 - ZMC

entrance to my area of the building...
just things I see everyday at work...

7/17/11 - Life Connection Church

Well kinda..

New Life Church is graciously sharing their building, allowing us to have a Sunday morning service again!

Blessed!

7/16/11 - Counter

Well - I was too embarrassed to publish the 'before' picture... but lets just say after cleaning my side of the bathroom I discovered I actually have a counter top!

7/15/11 - Tried

Half day Friday's in the summer allow time to do the things you need to take care of during the week - it's a really nice perk.  So, we had an eye appointment right after lunch then we tried to make it to get his permit... MISTAKE.  It was SO PACKED!  We turned back... next Friday!

7/14/11 - Zumba!

I have so much fun in this class - I don't even feel like I'm "work"ing out - I feel like I'm having a blast at a dance party.  Not a bad way to burn 600 - 800 calories!

7/13/11 - Bags

And actually, my lunch bag is missing from the picture...

7/12/11 - Post Op

See anything missing...
I've still been in pain and went for my Post Op appointment for him to make sure I'm healing ok.
I was told "at your age, it takes longer to heal"
UGH.. not what I wanted to hear...

7/11/11 - Yummo!

Rita's Italian Ice
better than snow cones!

7/10/11 - Discovering

I love Sunday's
Sunday pep rally time!!
I forgot to take a picture of our new little church
we are sharing which is allowing us to have a Sunday spot!!

7/9/11 - July Book

While out on a typical date night, dinner then walk around the book store - I found the book I'm actually already reading - get this - ON MY PHONE!
I added this classic on my list of books to read this year and I found out my phone has an eReader on it and this book was listed FREE!   I'm not sure I'm keen on reading on my 4.5 inch screen but I'm enjoying the book enough to read it...

7/8/11 - Blessed Friendship

Mrs. Jenn and Grady!!  I sure miss her and Alex's band...  I Am's Call used to play at our church until we moved, they added to their family and live too far - just a combo of things.  Facebook allows us to keep in touch but there is nothing like making time to do lunch!  This is one friendship that inspires me, enlightens me and I glean God's word from this precious lady.  I love her and I'm very thankful God placed her in my life.

We met in Coppell - kind of a middle point for both of us and on the way home due to the 114 construction I found myself here...
WITHOUT CASH!!  I had to scrape $1 for the toll but it was much better than sitting on 114 forever!!  Poor toll booth guy had to wait on me to dig up my change!!  :)

7/7/11 - Bridge

It's rolling right along...

7/6/11 - Zales

Zales Art
just another day at the office...

7/5/11 - Served

So, Janelle has this list of hers, called the 40 by 40 list of things to do before she turns 40...  On her list was to serve a 4-course meal - our life group got to be the guests to this awesome event!

I tried Caviar!
It wasn't bad...
But I'll pass...

She even made me a sugar free
Chocolate Mousse  :)

I wish I would have taken more pictures..

7/4/11 - Hot Dogs and Fireworks!

We went to the annual 4th of July Parade at our friends house and later enjoyed some great food.  It's always nice visiting Scott, Lisa and the family, everyone always makes us feel like part of the family.

I guess at 15 he's a little old to run out for the candy being thrown out at the parade...

Festive 4th of July dessert!!
SMILES!!
:)  No...  Smiles... from the teens...

Later we picked up my mom and drove to Hurst where they put on an AWESOME fireworks show - especially for a little city.  Mom thought she was going to miss out on a good fireworks show since she moved from Arlington, near the ballpark.  So, we put her in the best spot!!  We were close enough to hear the great music from Emerald City, feel the booms from the fireworks and dust off the ashes from the leftovers!!  That is CLOSE!  :)

Camera phone...
certainly did NOT
do the show justice...

7/3/11 - Bocce Ball

Our neighbor Avery, threw a great 4th of July cookout party!!
Great times...
Bummed that I didn't take more pictures...

07/02/11 - Loco Coyote

With no big family vacation on the books this year due to surgeries sucking our money and vacation time from work... we didn't want to put summer of 2011 in the books without going somewhere.  So we loaded up for a quick little road trip!!  :0)
Just to go eat.  We drove an hour and half to Glen Rose, Texas to try this little hole in the wall place that we saw on the Food Network Channel on Diner, Drive-ins and Dives, Guy Fieri's little show where he goes to the remote locations and finds little famous spots to try.  It was a tiny little place for sure.

Denny looks worried like he may not finish his plate...

This Dive was really a little hole in the wall - but being in Texas they do food BIG - TEXAS big!

Denny's Chicken Fried Steak

Josh's Hamburger!!  WOW!

A week after having my oral surgery I really couldn't finish my plate.  My food lasted 3 days and it was just a little old Chopped Beef BBQ sandwich...

That was our little family vacation 2011!
No, dog sitter required!  :)
Fun Times :)

07/01/11 - B-I-N-G-O

Determined to start feeling better and at least get out and enjoy myself I thought about playing Bingo with Michael for old time sakes.  I called him to see if he felt like meeting me after my half day of working Friday.  Unfortunately he couldn't go he was working, but I had gotten myself thinking about it - that I went ahead and went.
Michael and I used to spend just about every Friday night playing Bingo.  Probably not the best place to take a kid but he was good at it and seemed to want to go.  I was young, dumb, single and didn't have anything else better to do with my kiddo on a Friday night so it became our thing.  It was cheap fun, back then both of us we could play all night for $10 to $20 if we splurged.  Some nights we could walk away with more than we spent and some nights - well, we still have the memories of fun times.  We would laugh, be happy for winners around us and be thrilled when we could yell BINGO!

06/30/11 - Up to it...

The past three days I was just getting by on pain meds and working best I can through the pain killers.  I did my best to spread them out so I could still function taking Ibprofin as much as possible.  By Thursday's lunch date with Autumn, I was finally feeling up to at least enjoying time with a friend.  So, while I ate my soft yogurt she had her lunch and bake sale snacks we had a nice visit.

06/29/11 - Still..

It was Wednesday but I still felt like this sign...

06/28/11 - Early

After being out last week and barely making it thru the day Monday...

I had tons of work piling up - had to get an early start.

06/27/11 - Had to...

go to work
even though I was...

06/26/11 - In Bed

Online / in bed church for me - not sure that I remembered or understood much but I attended my friend's church with their live webcast church!  It was pretty cool...but I spent much of the day still out of it...
by the evening I was finally feeling up to a bowl of mash potato goodness.
Even though the excruciating pain was gone, there was now a new type pain going on in my mouth - you know the open wound with stitches kinda pain.  It was more of a burning sting...  oh bother...

06/25/11 - Saturday Surgery

You'll have to ask Denny - of all the waiting rooms he's had to endure on my behalf if this was the best?  Big flat screen...not to bad.  I don't remember much of this day...

06/24/11 - Pre-Op Instructions

As always they say "don't eat or drink anything before midnight..."
Really you need to tell a patient that is having ORAL surgery that??  Like I felt like even eating anything at all much less after midnight.

I did nothing all day Friday but stay in a state of pain killer numbness...

06/23/11 - Numb

All the dentist could do for me was shoot me up with novacaine to numb the area and percribe some more pain killers.  The numbness was supposed to take the pain away for up to four hours, long enough he was hoping to get me in to an Oral Surgeon that day.  The girls in the office worked for a while calling different offices, the best they could find that would take me that day - was one in Dallas - all other area doctors were in surgery all day and could not fit me in.  My appointment wasn't until 1:45 - the numbness, by the way wore off within two hours.  I had to rely on the pain killers till the surgeon could remove it or fix it.

My 1:45 eneded up being a consultation only and after looking at the his own x-rays and reading the other dentist report he tells me extraction is my only option.  The really bad news was he couldn't take it out until Saturday.  I nearly cried as I asked him how am I supposed to deal with the pain until then?  He changed my antibiotics and said this should help shrink the abscess helping with the pain.  Along with my pain killers I already had... so, I spent the time until the surgery - numb.

06/22/11 - Back to work...

So, the plan was to finish the antibiotics and get with an oral surgeon by next week.  I had to go to work since I used all my time off with my Kidney Cancer surgery.  But by lunch I was walking to CVS buying...
...by midnight I was crying and in so much pain it was unreal.  I called my dentist at midnight - both he and the dentist that did the retreat called me back feeling horrible that I was hurting that bad by then... The told me how much of some pain medicine that I could take left over from my Kidney surgery and come straight in first thing that morning.  I did but the pain medicine didn't take away the excruciating pain.  I have NEVER had a worse experience with pain as I have with this stupid tooth.  I can't even describe it - it's so bad you want to just die.
