09/09/11 - Slaughter

Actually - Games like this aren't really that much fun...

Great for Trinity but a little bit boring to watch and you just leave feeling so bad for the other team...

Maybe, that is because I'm a mom...

***** for sure this book is a must read!

Finished reading this in time to see the movie before it was out of the theater. Book of COURSE was better than the movie but it was still worth seeing.

I loved seeing the characters come to life on the big screen fresh from my mind. I have to say the HILLY they picked (Ron Howard's daughter) did her mean character justice, my favorite though has to be Minny!! - You GO GIRL!!!

09/07/11 - MAINT REQD

No fail light to remind you to change your oil - nice. There is always the clear window sticker that reads when your next oil change is due but now - a LIGHT! WOW! Works great for the procrastinators like me. The more miles you driver before changing your oil it will start blinking, drive even more and it stays on - annoying you enough to get it done. You can't ignore it...

Now, if they could just invent a light to go off when it's time to renew my plates, my driver's license - something that I can't ignore...

09/06/11 - Sushi

Nicole passed her tests and she is an official Certified Respiratory Therapist - so, WE CELEBRATED with her favorite food - Sushi!! It was my first time to try it and it was actually pretty good.

We met up with his parents 1/2 way to Kansas

I think he plugged the GPS in his new truck - my GPS - was Denny!

It's been since 2004 that we had two vehicles!

09/01/11 - Bubbly

There are a lot of adjectives I can use to describe my grandma - bubbly is just one of many.

Weird picture - I know - but today when I passed the bin FULL of it - it reminded me of my grandma... here's why...

My grandma loved to pop these things! It annoyed my grandpa - I don't know if that is why she liked it or not but it would just make her laugh - the sound or to hear my grandpa - yell "Billy!" she would just grin. I'll never forget one summer she came home with a big ole sheet of bubble wrap - "Look! meja - there are a TON to pop!" She laid it on the floor and said "Let's DANCE!" :)

Happy memories... I miss you grandma - so much. You would love my boys and they would love you too. They love popping it too!

Today's company quarterly meeting announced some exciting things to come for Zales! We are partnering with two icons in fashion.

1st - Vera Wang for our bridal collection - she is THE NAME in bridal design so, to have her design with Zales for our bridal collections - well, it's AWESOME.

2nd - Jessica Simpson is adding fashion jewelry to her already multi-million dollar fashion designs! Zales is blessed to have these two names to partner with!!

3rd - We had the best quarter we have had in years!! $$

Yeah - Zales - I've been with you since coming out of bankruptcy - I've seen ups and downs of the business - I'm excited to be with you for the best years to come!

New Parents Meeting at Trinity High School - it brings joy and sadness both to start this new school year. While he's been a High School student already, his freshman year was at Harwood Jr. High - now he's in the High School building as a sophomore. It's an exciting place to go to school if you are an athlete - a football player for sure. Trinity is home of the State Champions - Trinity Trojans. They even have a Gatorade commercial! It's going to be an exciting next 3 years here - but sad because he's my baby - my last child going to high school. :(

I can NOT believe it! I had an amazing Pampered Chef party, my house was filled with so many wonderful/sweet ladies and I completely forgot to take a picture!! UGH... Oh well, here's a picture of what we made - there was NONE left - it was that

to a Roller Derby! Very interesting - one of those kinda nights

This turned out to be Denny's last ride... he sold his bike!

Next door from my work parking lot is a LAFitness and they have one of these Police Towers in the parking lot "watching" the parking lot. I used to think that Police actually sit inside and watch - but there is no way someone has been inside that thing in this heat. It's been triple digit heat out there! LAFitness has cameras and they had to ADD a Police Tower also - gees..

ok - 85 degrees in the grand scheme of things 85 is not that hot... but at 7:00 PM inside your workout place while trying to do ZUMBA - it's HOT!!!

This heat is sucking up my "patience fruit"

I think everyone is extra grumpy because of it and it wears you down!

Praying for rain and for my "joy fruit" to overwhelm me so my patience fruit doesn't wither away...
